Predictions used to be a corny ploy to get people to buy a tabloid. They were based on dreams and the alignment of the stars, if they were based on anything tangible at all. Today we’ve developed machines that learn how to accurately predict what customers really want, based on real data for each individual. Over the next five years, we will see the digital landscape change even more, and only through looking ahead can we make sure we’re not left behind. This rapid technology growth impacts marketers in a profound way. We know that human-driven personalization does not scale.
